But, its a shame not to pass on the "humor". So we have written down some of the cute remarks we have heard over the past week.
- The children loved hearing the Purim story at snack time. One day, eager to continue where we had left off, Hadassa reminded us what we were up to: "when Bigson and Little-son..." (the characters correct names are Bigson and Seresh.)
- Searching through magazines for pictures of food, Isaac was not satisfied with rice crispy treats in a box: " I don't like food in a box, I like toys in a box!"
- We were reading a story about sharing. All the children took turns talking about who they share with at home. (most of them mentioned their siblings) Ethan piped up: " I don't like to share with Charlie- he chews everything" (Charlie is a dog)
- Javier saw me taking out a dead plant. Ever the environmentalist, he said: " You don't need to take it out , there are parts that are still in season!" (there were a few leaves that hadn't yet withered.)
- Ryan was watching Holden put his body together. As Holden was pasting his stomach in place, Ryan remarked: "Wow Holden, you didn't eat much!" (Holden had put very little food into his stomach.)
- Mommy Hadassa was scolding little sister Ariela for eating some whip cream that was needed for the cake. In her defense, Ariela replied: "I was just tasting if its Kosher!"
- Jordan was too busily immersed in her game at the doll corner to come do a project. But after being coaxed by the teacher, she was quick to make it part of her game: "bye Mom, I am going to Art class"
