The desert is full of many scorpions and snakes. Hashem surrounded the Jewish people, as they traveled through the desert with clouds to protect them from the desert environment . Our sukkah reminds of this. What a surprise to find our yard full of desert habitat animals. Hunting for lizard, scorpions and snakes kept us really busy in our pretend desert habitat.
