Sink or Float science experiment

Rain cloud Experiment

Using shaving cream, water, a pipette, and a bit of watered down blue paint (food coloring is also an option) we simulated what happens inside of a cloud when it starts to rain. This activity was a hit with the whole class!

The Water Cycle

Tying in with our lesson on Noach’s Ark, we have been talking a lot about rain and where it comes from. This week’s weather has also been great material for discussion as we have had foggy days, cloudy days, rainy days, and sunny days! During snack we read books about clouds and the water cycle (we learned some big words like precipitation and evaporation).

Our craft this week was to illustrate how water cycles through our world! Evaporating from oceans, rivers, and lakes to form clouds and then then eventually rain or snow back down to the Earth. Did you know that the water we use on Earth today is the same water that the very first people would have used?
