As we prepare for Yom Kippur, Morah Blumi discussed with us the importance of the holiday. We talked about the things we do in honor of Yom Kippur; not wearing leather, giving tzedakah, and fasting for adults. We worked hard on making individual tzedakah boxes to bring home. This is not only a fun activity which produces a product that we can bring home to show off but also helps to build on the connection between home and school. We get to bring a piece of our school learning home to share with our family and recognize the shared experiences.
