we learned all about the animals who sleep all winter long. They hibernate when the weather gets too cold. But, we know that they first need to prepare for their long winter rest,when the don't wake up to eat. In the fall they eat and eat and get fat. Also the some birds Migrate to warmer places in the fall time before the weather turns cold.
to practice this, and help us understand it, we played a really fun game. When the music was playing, we got to dance around and have fun, but when it stopped, we listen to the animal the teacher calls out. Then we pretend to be that animal hibernation/migrating (or even a
squirrel collecting nuts to hide for winter).
