There are molecules in the air. When we breathe air into our nose,
everything that is in the air, enters as well. In the air, there are
malecules, dust, and other dirt. The little hairs in our nose, along
with the mucus clean the air as it enters, so that, the germs and dirt
won't get into our body. The molecules, go to a special place in the
back of our nose where there are nerves that "pick up" these
molecules. The nerves bring the message to the brain. The brain then
tells us what we are smelling.
We had so much fun trying this out. We had to sniff to draw the
molecule filled air into our nose. We loved sorting the different
kinds of smells.
